Benha: A Transit Station My submission for the
Al Rawi Awards 2026
For me, Benha is not just my hometown; it is a vital mirror of Egypt. Known as the ultimate transit hub of the Delta, its platforms witness the intertwining stories of thousands of Egyptians every day.
Through this black and white series, I look at Egypt through the lens of Benha. By stripping away color, I focus entirely on the raw textures of Egyptian life—the fleeting moments of rushing, waiting, and human connection. Here, Benha ceases to be just a station; it becomes a living metaphor for a country always in motion
